How to replace a broken washing machine capacitor

Posted by

Diseases that often occur in washing machines, especially 2-tube washers are problems that are slow or do not even want to spin at all. If something like this happens, then it is certain that the problematic is your washing machine capacitor. the capacitor may be already weak or it might even be damaged. The characteristics when the capacitor is damaged is if you use the dynamic motor you can rotate using the hand if it is hard, then another way to check it.
To replace your washing machine capacitor, it can be done independently. You can open the back of the washing machine. Once opened, the capacitor will appear. For 2-tube washing machine capacitors, it generally has 2 dynamo, namely washing dynamo and dryer dynamo. But sometimes this dynamo is often used as one part. But actually there are still 2 dynamos because they have 2 different pairs of cables. Therefore, you need to buy 2 capacitors, the size of the washing machine capacitor is adjusted to the size of each dynamo.

For the right size of the capacitor, you can see it in the text printed on the damaged capacitor. In general, the size of the washing machine capacitor is larger than the size of the drying machine capacitor. Sometimes to get the right size of a capacitor is not easy. For example, the capacitor size for the wash motor is 9.5uF and the spin of the motor is 3.5uF. So when you don't find the same size, you can use a 10uF wash motor size and a 4uF spin motor. Things like this are not a big problem, because the difference is only 0.5uF.
When changing the washing machine capacitors, to determine which wash motor and spin the motor is, then you can sort each of the cables in the capacitor. Because it can be the color of the capacitor cable for each type of washing machine is different. After you find the cable in your washing machine's capacitor, then you can just disconnect the cable and then replace it and connect it with the capacitor that you bought earlier. Inside the capacitor, there is no polarity so you don't have to worry about installing it back and forth.
