Often we find the motor rotation on the washing machine is not strong or weak. Whereas the motor axle is not jammed and the capacitor is also in good condition, while the motor wire still looks smooth or there is no sign of burning.
This is because there has been a short circuit on the motor winding and most often occurs at meetings / stacks between the main winding and the starter. To make sure we can know it by measuring the resistance in each coil then adding it up. If the result of the total resistance of the main winding and starter does not match the measured in the multitester, it can be ascertained that the dynamo is short circuit.
Examples of cable connections on the washing machine dynamo and winding direction for each pole.r |
As we know, the dynamo washing machine / type has 2 windings, main and starter. Then one of the bases or ends of the two windings is connected together. Generally, washing machines are marked with BLUE or BLACK cables that are connected directly with a fuse or AC power cord. While the tip of the main winding we mark with CHOCOLATE cable. And the tip of the starter winding to our capacitor is marked with GRAY cable. So the cable coming out of the dynamo is 3. BLUE, BROWN and GRAY.
The steps of measurement / checking are as follows:
1. Measure the resistance between BLUE and BROWN cable. Suppose the result is 70 ohms.
2. Measure the resistance between BIRU and GRAY cable. Suppose the result is 120 ohms.
3. Measure resistance between BROWN and GRAY cables. If the dynamo in good condition the measured results in the multitester should be 70 ohms + 120ohm = 190 ohms. If the measured value is much smaller, then it can be ascertained that the dynamics are short. Of course this will affect the rotation power and dynamo will heat up quickly. This example is an example of a dynamo winding in the drying section.
4. While on the washing part dynamo, the resistance distance between the two windings must be the same. Because the two windings are the number and the amount of wire used is the same. Because the two windings can be the main coil or starter depending on the direction of rotation or the incoming power source on both cables (CHOCOLATE / GRAY). That's why both CHOCOLATE and GRAY cables all go to the capacitor, so that the dynamo can rotate 2 directions. If the source of electricity goes into the dynamo CHOCOLATE cable it will spin left and if it goes to ABU-ABU it will be the opposite. This is set by the timer.
Example: if between BLUE and BROWN cable is measured 70 ohms then between BLUE and GRAY cable must be 70 ohms also. So if we measure BROWN and GRAY cable, a good dynamo will be measured 70 ohms + 70 ohm = 140ohm.
For more details, it can be seen in the scheme of how to roll the dynamo washing machine that I posted a few days ago.
Such is the simple trick to check the dynamo condition of the washing machine or the like, for example: blowers on air conditioners, water pumps, fans etc. For how to overcome the dynamo of a short washing machine without rolling up, I will review it on the next opportunity. This might be useful.
