Washing Machine Capacitor Function

Posted by

Washing machine capacitors are an important component that supports electrical power to the motor drive. Damage to the capacitor makes the motor become powerless or weak so it can no longer perform its function as normal. Generally each motor uses one capacitor. For automatic type washing machines or one hole, it usually only uses one capacitor, while for the two-hole washing machine or the manual one uses two capacitors which are usually combined.

Capacitors as a storage of electrical power before being forwarded to the motor. The size of the capacitor is checked in the microfarad (Mf). The problem of the washing motor using a capacitor measuring 8.10, or 12 Mf. while the motor uses a capacitor of 4.5, or 6 Mf.

The most plastic sign or symptom when the capacitor is damaged is a slow and weak motor. So when you feel that your washing machine is spinning is weak, either dryer or washing, or it doesn't even rotate at all when given a load. One component that can be damaged is the capacitor.

The cause of the damage to the capacitor can be from a long service life or improper use of a washing machine. The use of a washing machine with a large load continuously will make the capacitor heat up quickly and damage the capacitor itself.

To replace this capacitor is actually very easy. Washing capacitors usually consist of only two cables that can be connected without fear of having to reverse the connection. What needs to be considered is its capacity. do not let you use a capacitor size that is lower or higher than the standard because this will affect the durability of the motor.
